Our new retail store is open.

Please read through the following information before you call or visit!

For your convenience, we've opened a retail store in Meriden, CT.

Since we expect to maintain a full schedule of Hamfests through the year,
store hours will be limited.  Click here for our Hamfest Schedule

As you can see, there are very few weekends available, so we'll be open mostly during the week.  We hope to stay open at least one evening until 7:00 PM. or later, generally Thursday.

We will not be selling new radios.  We suggest contacting our good friends at KJI Electronics for your needs.

You won't find fancy fixtures, and showcases.  If you've seen our display at any Hamfest in the Northeast, you know what to expect.  As time goes on, we'll be expanding our selection to better accommodate your needs.  For now, most all of the items on our Web Site will be available.

You will find Anderson Powerpoles and assembled cables; a wide variety of DC Power cables and accessories; ladder line, coax cables and jumpers in several sizes and lengths; antenna wire of many types; high quality antenna rope, pulleys, and insulators; baluns; speaker mics and speakers; antenna mounts for almost any vehicle; HF, VHF, and UHF antennas for base, mobile, and portable use; connectors and adapters for most RF cables; tools, SWR meters and voltmeters; plus plenty of other handy items and gadgets to make Ham radio more fun.

But even more important, you will find honest and knowledgeable advice and service from experienced hams who live by a few simple rules:

1. Treat the customer the way we would like to be treated
2. Never sell anything we would not use ourselves
3. When in doubt, refer to rules 1 and 2.

Please call first before making a trip to the store!

Can we be clearer?

If we answer the phone, we're there.  If we don't, chances are good that we're off to a Hamfest, visiting a supplier, running errands, or even <gasp> taking a day off.
You may wish to check in advance that the items you need are in stock.

Our store address is:
Quicksilver Radio Products
387 South Colony Street
Meriden, CT 06451
(203) 440-4973

Here are easy directions:

Note:  Mapquest, GPS, friends, "helpful" guys on the repeater, etc. may recommend different routes.  Unless you know Meriden well -- for example, you know the difference between South Colony Street, Colony Street, North Colony Street, North Colony Rd, Old Colony Rd, Old North Colony Rd, Colony Heights, and Colony Place -- and you know where Perkins Street is, even though it doesn't really exist any more -- we strongly suggest that you follow the directions below.
But it's your choice.

From the Merritt/Wilbur Cross Parkway, CT Route 15
(note that commercial vehicles are not allowed on the parkway):

Get off at Exit 66 (US Rte 5).  Turn right to go north on Rte 5.  Go appx 2.1 miles to Hall Avenue (Citgo Station on the left).  Turn left onto Hall Avenue.  At the end of Hall Avenue turn right onto Old Colony Road.  Go north appx 1/2 mile (bearing right at the fork) onto South Colony Street.  Look for Tom's Garage on the left side, we're just a little bit past that.  The building is set back from the street about 150 feet, and we share it with Macri Sign Company.  If you get to the railroad underpass, you went too far.

From Interstate 91 Southbound:

Take Exit 18 to I-691 West.  Get off at Exit 8 (Broad St. US Rte 5) and turn left to go south on Rte 5.  Go appx 1.8 miles to Hall Avenue (Citgo Station on the right).  Turn right onto Hall Avenue.  At the end of Hall Avenue turn right onto Old Colony Rd.  Go north appx 1/2 mile (bearing right at the fork) onto South Colony Street.  Look for Tom's Garage on the left, we're just a little past that.  The building is set back from the street about 150 feet or so, and we share it with Macri Sign Co.  If you get to the railroad underpass, you went too far.

From Interstate 91 Northbound:

Take Exit 15 to CT Route 68.  Turn left to go west on 68.  Go appx 2 miles, and take the US Rte 5 exit.  Turn right to go north on Rte 5.  Go appx 2.4 miles to Hall Avenue (Citgo Station on the left).  Turn left onto Hall Avenue.  At the end of Hall Avenue turn right onto Old Colony Road.  Go north appx 1/2 mile (bearing right at the fork) onto South Colony Street.  Look for Tom's Garage on the left, we're just a little past that.  The building is set back from the street about 150 feet or so, and we share it with Macri Sign Co.  If you get to the railroad underpass, you went too far.

From the Greater NYC area:

Navigate to Interstate 95 Northbound.  Take that to New Haven CT, and take Interstate 91 North; OR -- the Hutchinson River Parkway becomes the Merritt/Wilbur Cross Parkway in Connecticut.  Either way, then follow the above directions.

 From Interstate 84 Eastbound:

Take I-84 through Waterbury CT.  Take Interstate 691 East.

From Interstate 84 Westbound:

Take I-84 into Hartford CT.  Take Interstate 91 South.

From California:

Take Interstate 80 East appx 2800 miles to Hazelton, PA.  Take Interstate 81 North to Scranton PA.  Take Interstate 84 East through Waterbury CT.  Take Interstate 691 East.
